In order to enable us to better serve your legal needs we offer information on this website concerning how your LegalShield® contract works in certain areas. We suggest that you refer to the more specific coverage pages in the event you have a question about the legal services.
Please review your LegalShield® Plan and understand the benefits it provides. The information on this website is intended generally to help you understand your benefits; however, the actual contract establishes and governs the benefits to which you are entitled. It is important to access your benefits as soon as possible after you realize you are facing a legal matter. If you wait until the last minute, you may be too late for us to be of full service to you. We need as much time as possible to address your legal matter within the parameters of your plan.
An intake must be opened for each matter to commence the process. You can open an intake from your LegalShield app on your phone or computer. When opening an intake via the app, please give us as much information as possible (including all parties concerned) and include any relevant documents so your matter can be assigned for an attorney call as quickly as possible. Otherwise, we will need to contact you to gather additional information, which will delay the process. You can also call our offices to open your intake. One of our representatives will verify your membership information and will request information concerning the nature of your legal matter. These representatives are employees of the firm. Any information that you provide them is confidential and fully protected by the attorney/client privilege.
You will then receive a call from one of our attorneys. Under some circumstances, we will arrange for an appointment at a specific time to call you back (even after hours if we have been unable to reach you during normal business hours). We typically are not able to connect you directly to a specific attorney, but rather the most appropriate attorney to help with your issue will call as soon as they become available.
In many instances you will be entitled to a letter as part of your plan benefits. Before we can send a letter on your behalf, you must complete a General Authorization Letter and send it to us (or a Collection Authorization Letter for a debt collection letter.) You will find links for these letters on this website.
Your LegalShield plan provides for a free Will, Directives to Physicians, POAs and HIPPA Release. This process starts by you completing and submitting to us a Will Questionnaire. You can complete this form on this website under estate planning, or you can use the form on your LegalShield app. You may also request a paper copy of the form by calling 817-255-2096.
Once we receive your form, it will be reviewed, and someone will call if we need more information or clarification. Once we have all the information you can expect to receive your Will within 5 business days.
It is extremely important to be organized with your facts and documents concerning your legal matter. Unless requested by us, please do not send original documents. After your documents are received, they will be reviewed by staff and added to our electronic system before being sent to the attorney. It may take up to 72 hours for the attorney to call regarding your documents.
